This policy applies to the public UnPack website at https://www.unpack.legal. The evidence workspace at https://app.unpack.legal is covered by our separate App Privacy Policy.

Website visits

This is a static information website. It does not provide evidence import, accounts, an evidence database or a cloud evidence library. Selecting Try UnPack Free takes you to the separate application.

When your browser requests this website, hosting, networking and security providers may process ordinary request information, including your IP address, browser/user-agent, requested page or asset, timestamps and network/security information. This information is used to deliver and protect the website and maintain its availability. It is separate from evidence processed in the application.

Cookies and analytics

On the production website at www.unpack.legal, we use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-6BDYQVQWS7) to understand website usage after you accept analytics. The Google tag does not load before acceptance or after you decline. Development and preview addresses do not enable this integration.

Analytics can process page views, interactions, browser/device information, cookie identifiers and network information sent to Google. We disable Google signals and advertising personalisation in this integration. Page locations supplied by this site exclude query strings and fragments, and the initial referring address is limited to its origin. Do not put confidential information into website URLs.

Your analytics choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. Accepted analytics may set _ga cookies scoped to www.unpack.legal, rather than the application subdomain. You can change your choice below; declining disables collection and removes this site’s analytics cookies. If browser storage is unavailable, we may ask again on a later page.

Google may process analytics information outside South Africa. See Google’s privacy policy for its practices. This integration does not add analytics to the UnPack application or send imported evidence to Google. Hosting infrastructure may still use technical mechanisms needed for routing, security or availability regardless of your analytics choice. Fonts and brand assets are served with the site.

Contacting us

The Contact link opens your email application. If you send us an email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, organisation and message. Your email provider also handles that communication under its own terms.

We use support correspondence to respond, maintain appropriate records, resolve problems and meet applicable legal obligations. Please do not include confidential evidence or case information in an initial support request. Email is outside the browser-local evidence workflow.

Use, sharing and retention

We process information we actually receive where reasonably necessary to operate and secure the website, respond to enquiries, prevent abuse, maintain appropriate business records or comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Hosting, security, analytics (when accepted) and email providers may process ordinary technical or correspondence data to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. Some providers may process information outside South Africa; applicable cross-border requirements must be observed.

We retain information we actually receive only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes and applicable legal requirements. This website does not retain imported evidence because it does not accept evidence imports.

Links, the application and checkout

Links may take you to the evidence application, WhatsApp’s Help Center or other external websites. Those destinations may have different privacy practices. Checkout uses https://checkout.unpack.legal and Lemon Squeezy’s hosted payment service. The App Privacy Policy explains the separate payment workflow and the information used to verify export access.

Privacy rights and enquiries

Subject to applicable law, including South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, you may request access to or correction of information we hold, request deletion where appropriate, object to processing, or complain to the Information Regulator.
